The Social Policy Bank in the northern province of Hung Yen has granted loans of VND 997.8 billion (USD 60.4 million)to 8,600 local poor households over the last two years to help them access to clean water and build sanitary toilets.

Poor rural households in the province have been able to build water tanks and pipelines, drill wells and build sanitary toilets with the loans which are granted as part of a national program to increase acess to clean water and improve sanitation in rural areas.
