At the launching, MARD Vice Minister Đào Xuân Học called all of the ministries, provinces and economic entities for making the spirit of the Week become practical and effective actions during the year to improve water supply and sanitation so that all of the people in the country can access clean water resource which contribute to better life of the people.

According to Vice Minister Học,  the water supply and saniation for rural people have been improved significantly  during the passing years, contributing to development of morden  and civilized rural under the  resolution  on new rural development by Ministry of Politics . However , efforts  are needed to implement the set objectives , especially those on household sanitation , hygiene, operation and mainatainance  of water supply schemes , water quality and rural  environment especially for  disadvantaged areas . 

Ms. Lis Rosenholm, Danish Deputy Ambassador stressed that Denmark has been supporting the National Target Program on RWSS (the Program) during the passing years and will continue their support during the next phase of the Program, phase 3.  During the phase 3, Denmark is interested in the monitoring and evaluation system, operation and maintenance for the most effectiveness of the Program. This launching is among events that celebrating 40 year relationship between Việt Nam and Denmark.

At this event, the pupils from Thanh Chăn commune of Điện Biên province exchanged with RWSS Good Will Ambassador Xuân Bắc via testing games such as good hand washing habit, who is quicker, who is more skillful … so that they will be aware and take concrete actions which contribute to the success of the Program. 

On this occasion, the inauguration of the water supply scheme in Thanh Chăn commune with the capital of more than 11,6 billion VND and serving more than 4000 people in the commune.
