On 21/10/2011 in Da Lat city, Cnetral Womens Union in colaboration with Water and sanitation Program organised the Handwashing with soap Initiative (HWSI) closing workshop.

The objective of HWI is reducing diarrheal diseases in children under five through a beahvior change communications program to promote  handwashing with soap (HWWS) among caretakers and primary school children. It has been carried out from 2006 to 2012 with main partners of Ministry of Health and Vietnam Womens Union and other partners like MoET, Departments of Health anf Department of Educaction and Training, Unilever, Lixco and INGOs.

The workshop helped the participants thoroughly understand the results of HWI implementation in VietNam, share and learn experience on integrating HW communication into programs/activities by different organizations and ministries and discuss plan to scale up HWI in Vietnam in the future.
