On 28 October 2011, Vietnam Red Cross supported by French Red Cross and EuropeAid organized the Workshop on sharing experiences on the project "Capacity building for ethnic minority in Bac Kan province to access clean environment and drinking water supply". 

The project was carried out by Bac Kan provincial Red Cross with technical supported by French Red Cross from January 2008 to October 2011 with total budget of 1,338,538 euro.

The project achievements focused on capacity building, communication on sanitation through PHAST and CHAST, access to clean water, access to sanitation (latrines).

However the project faced not few challenges on targeted areas/groups of people scartering and speaking different languages and education levels, changing local partners and overload work, participatory approach, coss cutting issues on gender and environemnt, sustainability of water supply schemes, scaling up and disseminating experiences.
