On 31/10/2011 in Hanoi, the NTP Standing Officer in collaboration with SNV organized the workshop on implementation of research priority on CLTS and behavior change communication for Northern ethnic minorities.

The research objective is to document the effectiveness and alignment of CLTS in 3 North West provinces of Dien Bien, Lao Cai and Lai Chau and to integrate research results into its application and post triggering.

The research mothodology is mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), applying PRA such as Vern model and mapping.

The research proposals emphasized that any CLTS intervention should be planned for integration into pre triggering and monitoring, improved sanitation conditions and BCC; poor people participation and diversified models of latrines for more appropriate options by local people.
